The data source connection is where you define how to get the data from.

The Adhoc Report requires Data Source. Data Source is configuration on how to get the data.  In eCatalog, we use the Connection to define the Data Source.

There are several types of Data Source:

1. Microsoft Excel. The administrator can upload an Excel file, and it will become the data source.

2. Microsoft Access. The administrator can upload an Access file, and it will become the data source.

3. SQL Server. The administrator can setup connection to database. You can also set the SQL statement to get the data.

4. Internal. This data source pulls the data from internal “business objects” which defined by custom module or internal eCatalog itself.
